Bobby and Granite Valley Landscaping took our yard, water efficiency and sustainability to places we had no idea they could go. I think what was most impressive, besides the end result, was his approach to our project as a whole. I have always taken pride in my own knowledge and abilities to care for and maintain my yard. So it is with my self-proclaimed green thumb, that I must admit, I was a bit reluctant to the thought of even considering something “new”. However, Bobby’s creative, solutions based approach to use healthy soil and smart irrigation controllers far exceeded our expectations. To see his genuine care and expertise for what he does, along with a meticulous work ethic was very impressive. I think what we were pleased with most, was the serendipitous pleasure it was to work with Bobby. It’s so much nicer at the end of a job when you not only have a great product, but you have also made a friend.

I would highly recommend Bobby for any job you have – large or small. Bobby has done a lot of work for me over the past five years and he has always done an outstanding job. He takes the time to explain what he thinks needs to be done and gives you various options for solving the problem. Then he does what he says he is going to do, when he says he will do it and at the price he quoted. We all know how rare that is these days! He is very professional and trustworthy; I am completely comfortable with giving him a key to my home. It has been several months since Bobby took our dismal front yard landscape to one that people passing by stop and take a second look. It is low maintenance and saves on water. With the new water system he installed we are no longer paying for water that runs off the landscape into the street sewer. Extra benefit to this is that the sidewalk water stain is now gone. He took us from getting the OK from the Homeowners Assoc. to a finished beautiful yard that our neighbors approve and we love.

Bobby is one of those rare people who loves what he does and it shows. He is a perfectionist on everything-- even those aspects of the job that are not visible when the job is finished. His fenceposts will still be standing for my kids' grandchildren to see. But don't listen to me. After all, I am just a doting happy customer. But consider my experience with the City of Roseville permit inspector. I asked him how much time to allow for my final inspection. He told me about an hour and a half, depending on how things go. He then asked me who my contractor was, and when I told him it was Bobby, he lit up and said "If it's Bobby's project, it will take 30 minutes or less." That says it all. Customers and inspectors have one thing in common: they want a contractor who listens, who knows what he's doing, and who gets it right the first time.

I would like to share that having Bobby work on my home and yard has been an excellent experience. Bobby’s work ethic is great; he shows up on time, he is thorough and honest, and the quality of his work is outstanding. He prices everything out, provides options, and double-checks to make sure you’re getting what you want. Bobby is friendly and very easy to work with. He treats your home with the care and respect as if it were his own. I am delighted with the work that Bobby has done for me, and am happy to give him an excellent recommendation.

Bobby Alvarez brought the meaning of green landscaping to our yard and cut the amount of water we use (compared to last year) by 2/3. With his installation of MP rotator sprinklers in our backyard lawn and the climate controller to oversee the timing of our irrigation, he helped us “think outside our backyard”. In addition to incorporating water saving ideas, he helped us to minimize the impact on regional areas beyond our backyard and to rethink the kinds and uses of fertilizers and pesticides. We also love the redwood fence he crafted along the side of our home. Bobby is very positive and always eager to spend as much time as necessary on the phone or at our house with us, answering questions, brainstorming ideas for landscaping, and listening.
